We're always really proud to say that Carousellers earn an average of $800 a month renting out their spare room in Singapore.
So we dug a little deeper and compiled the average room rental rates according to district and room type:
Upcoming BTO Flats in Mature Estates (2019): Bishan, Tampines, and More
Word on the street is that Bishan might see 1,504 BTO flats, consisting of 2, 3 and 4-room units, by 2025.
And it'll be the first BTO flats in Bishan in 20 years – the last time new flats were built in Bishan was waaaay back in 2006.

Psst! Your HDB flat could be $160,000 cheaper.
HDB has just introduced a new Enhanced CPF Housing Grant (EHG), available to eligible buyers regardless of whether they get a BTO or resale flat.
With that, BTO applicants can get a grant amount of $80,000, while resale HDB flat buyers can get up to $160,000 (twice as much, you guys!).
Which makes the prices of resale HDBs much more comparable to BTOs. So don't strike out the resale option just yet!

OrangeTee & Tie head of research Christine Sun suggested this might be because of increased supply, with new HDB flats reaching their Minimum Occupancy Period (MOP).
