Carousellers Share

Bedok, Pasir Ris, East Coast… Every neighborhood is brimming with a unique character of its own.

A while back, we got our fellow Carousellers to share the best parts of living in their estates, and proud Easties generously offered their top insider recommendations.

From the best local delights (The best mee sua in Singapore, anyone?) to the most family-friendly activities, these will make the journey to Singapore’s Eastside worth it, no matter which end of the island you’re coming from.

Growing old does not mean that you have to stop being physically and mentally active. I was happy to see many seniors enthusiastically participating in activities during the official opening of Heartbeat@Bedok this morning. Heartbeat@Bedok is a one stop centre for health, wellness, and education for Bedok residents. Seniors residents, in particular, will benefit from the special areas and activities catering to them. They will also have easy access to healthcare at the polyclinic, wellness activities at the Kampong Chai Chee Community Centre, as well advice on staying active at the Active Health Lab. I hope that many more seniors and residents will take the opportunity to use the facilities at Heartbeat@Bedok. My thanks to @yishyanlee, who has spent the last 10 years working on this project together with the other advisers – @sweesaylim, @maliki_osman, Jessica Tan Soon Neo and @cherylchan.fengshan. Thank you also to the organisers, and volunteers for all your efforts. – LHL ([1] Photo by me; [2-4] MCI Photos by Fyrol)
