Kaitlyn Rytwinski: Canadian-Aussie shares her lucky Carousell find

Kaitlyn Rytwinski, 25, moved to Sydney from Toronto, Canada where she lives with her husband and a dreamy horse, Stormy.

Describe your fashion and personality.

I have three fashion styles. Depending on where I am and what kind of mood I’m in. During the weekdays at work and it’s summer time I love to wear a pretty tulle skirt with a tank top, or some kind of dress. I love floral prints during the summer time. To finish it off I’ll wear a pair of pretty flats or leather sandals. During winter time at work I’ll wear some kind of collared shirt tucked in to a pair of black or navy blue dress pants. I wear a lot of black and grey in winter. I’ll wear some kind of wool cardigan to go along with it. I love my black leather loafers or a pair of leather small heeled boots to finish my outfit off.

During the weekends when I’m not at work I’m completely opposite. I am super casual where ever I can pull it off. I love a good pair of skinny or boyfriend jeans and I’ll pair it with a plain T-shirt or jumper. My favourite thing to wear in winter is a oversized plaid shirt. I own multiple colours and patterns. When I’m at the farm with my horse my go to pair of shoes that I couldn’t live without are my Blundstones! The dirtier and more wrecked they get, the better they look. Super comfy too. I’ll be really daggy with an old pair of jeans that I don’t care about wrecking with holes and paint stains on them.

What inspires you?

What inspires me is people that aren’t afraid of anything or afraid of being who they really are. I have a friend like that and I have always envied her on how easy going and care free she is. She always pushes me to be my better self and encourages me to do something that scares me. I am always amazed by her.

How have you been using Carousell? Do you buy or sell?

Yes! I love buying from Carousell. I’m always in need of second hand clothing. I’m a special needs teacher so I’m always sitting on the ground, kneeling, and getting all sorts of stains on my clothing. There’s no point in buying brand new expensive clothing for work knowing it’s going to get trashed at work!

Wedding shinannigans!

I started selling clothes because I get bored of my wardrobe so I’m always trying to make more room in my closet. I have a tiny flat and space is very limited! It’s always nice to make some extra money for coffee and more clothes.

My first Carousell deal was actually me purchasing something. I had a pair of TOMS shoes that I adored but I wore them so much that they were time for the garbage bin. TOMS shoes has so many different patterns and they often change. I couldn’t buy the same pair on their website anymore but found the exact same pair here on Carousell , the showed were brand new and super cheap. I was stoked, and ever since then I’ve been obsessed with the app!

I’ve only done about two meetups, everything else has been posted and messaging through Carousell. Everyone I have come across has been really lovely. I haven’t come across anyone rude or anyone trying to rip me off which is really nice to see.
